A Freaky Thing

In a previous post, I mentioned how some unexplained incidents led us to believe "Beaker" was causing mischief. Today I remembered another incident. It happened like this....

One evening my dh and I were watching tv. Our kids had all gone to bed. We have hardwood floors in our home, and we suddenly heard a loud sound. It sounded like someone took a flip-flop and slapped it down hard on the floor. And it sounded like it came from the nearby hallway. I jumped up and asked my dh, "Did you hear that?!" He said he did, and went to investigate. The boys were all asleep, but our dd was still awake. She said she had heard the noise, too, but didn't know what it was. We thought it could have been a light bulb shattering. It kind of sounded like it could have been that. But, all light bulbs were intact. We never did figure out what had made that noise -- which drives me crazy. I HATE unsolved mysteries!
